What microAI does in netPDF
microAI works in two places in netPDF: in the help chat and in invoice recognition. Both learn from your confirmations.
F1 opens the chat — structured like a messenger. Ask in your own words about netPDF, PDF, e‑invoicing and printing. microAI replies with the appropriate help section or expert knowledge with a source and, on request, starts the named commands with „Execute now“.
„Capture from PDF“ recognizes sender, recipient, number, date, line items, taxes and totals and converts them into ZUGFeRD or XRechnung. Using the printer „netPDF E-Rechnung“ this works from any program.
Every confirmed document and every „Was helpful“ makes microAI on your computer better. With „Share learned data“ you additionally benefit from the shared knowledge of many installations.
microAI talks about itself — how it is structured, how it learns and where its limits lie — knows a few jokes and remembers your name during the conversation.
Principle of operation
microAI is not a single large model, but an interplay of small components. Each is good at one thing — together they understand questions, read documents and validate the result.
microAI understands questions phrased in your own words: it reduces words to their stems, tolerates typos and recognizes synonyms.
The help in netPDF and domain knowledge on e‑invoicing, PDF standards and printing. Expert answers cite their source, for example law, standard or specification.
A trained model decides which answer best matches your question — and learns from „Was helpful“ and from a selected alternative answer.
Specialized networks recognize on a document the parties involved, the individual fields such as number, date and amounts, and the meaning of each table column.
Once you have confirmed a document from a sender, microAI remembers its structure as a template. For the next document with the same layout, the fields are correct immediately.
Net amount plus tax equals gross, the sum of the line items, the format of VAT ID and IBAN: microAI recalculates. What doesn’t add up is marked in red instead of being silently smoothed over.
Training and Learning
microAI arrives with base knowledge and improves on your installation with every confirmation.
Net-Base trains the base models on its own servers in-house using many thousands of real documents. Only characteristics such as position, typography and layout go into the model—no content. The documents do not leave the premises.
Every confirmed document and every „Helped“ improves microAI on your computer. The learned data is stored encrypted in your user profile.
netPDF updates deliver new base knowledge. What microAI has learned on your system remains preserved.
Shared learning
With „Share learned“ all netPDF installations learn from each other without a single document being shared. It is enabled by default and can be switched off at any time: File > Options > E-invoice from PDF.

Yes. microAI consists of trained models and small neural networks that have learned from many examples and continue learning on your computer. It is not a large language model, but deliberately small and specialized — therefore fast, economical and completely local.
No. Invoices, PDFs, names, amounts and your questions do not leave the computer; there is no cloud account. If „Share learned data“ is enabled, netPDF at most once daily transmits encrypted weight changes of the networks and document templates without content to Net-Base – no document and no text from it.
Yes. Under File > Options > E-Invoice from PDF you can disable learning and sharing separately and reset learned data if desired. If you disable sharing, your not-yet-billed entries will be deleted.
Yes, markedly. Large language models are generalists that usually run in data centers and generate free-form text. microAI is deliberately built differently: small, specialized for netPDF, PDF, E-Invoice and printing, entirely on your computer — and it selects its answers from the help and a knowledge base with sources instead of inventing them. If it is uncertain, it says so.
No. microAI computes in milliseconds on a standard processor and also works offline. netPDF only needs an internet connection for registration, updates and — if enabled — sharing learned data.
